Head Start/Early Head Start

Head Start is a national program which provides comprehensive early childhood development services to America's low-income, pre-school children ages 3-5. In addition, their families receive support and social services through our programs. Head Start has a commitment to support children with disabilities by providing services to address their physical, emotional and/or learning disabilities.

Head Start continues to adapt to changing social conditions and respond to new research in early childhood education and development. Among the program's goals is to create culturally appropriate and relevant curricula and family services to meet the needs of our community's increasingly diverse population.

Early Head Start is a community-based program designed to encourage healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women, enhance infant and toddler development, and promote healthy families. Family Development Services' Early Head Start program includes child care, nutrition services and family case management.
